everything old is new again

October 24, 2002

I have decided to be insane for the month of November — I’m participating in NaNoWriMo, aka National Novel Writing Month.

The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. It’s not expected that you’ll write the great novel you have inside you; no, rather, you write just to write. It could be good, it could be — and will likely be — utter crap. The idea is just to get it done.

I’ve written 40,000 words in two weeks for a gaming project a few years back, so this is doable. At only 1,666 words a day, the sky’s the limit. I’ll be putting up a new site under the aegis of the Nook for the specific purpose of posting the daily parts.

It’ll be like automatic writing, with a twist.
