A sense of duty

Mike at poofle.com has announced that he’s taking one for the team.

I’m pretty much a loser, and it’s something I’ve come to accept and have learned to live with over the years. It’s OK though, I don’t need a pep talk. Twenty-six years and counting…I’ll be alright.

So this is why I am now going to become a registered Republican.

I’m doing it for all of us.

I’m taking one for the team.

He goes on to say:

The Phillies haven’t won a World Series since I was 4, the Sixers haven’t won the NBA title since I was 7, the Flyers haven’t won the Stanley Cup in my lifetime at all, and the Eagles, well, they haven’t been declared champion of anything flattering since they won the NFL championship in 1960 – before the Super Bowl even existed.

So it is with this history of shit in mind that I declare a party affiliation for the first time in my life.

Poofle = Registered Republican.

If you don’t already read Poofle, you’re missing some great writing. He’s one of the first blogs I started reading and is worth taking the time to read his daily entry.
