Now this was nice. Papa Phil wrote the setlists because it was his birthday. However, the band sort of veered off-course with Mission Man and never really looked back. Warhead was supposed to go there instead, but Jimmy was wearing his custom-made Mission Man t-shirt which caught Todd’s eye, so they launched into that.

First set highlights were the Peggy-O, obviously (and I got some great shots of Skehan playing his bouzouki during it), Bowling Green (!), Luxury Liner and a killer Mess (aren’t they all, though?).

Second set? Umm. Seven Story. Which was really sorta Seven Story Mountain > Slipknot > Over the Waterfall > Seven Story Mountain. All twenty four or so minutes of it. Boggling. John is really the only member of the band who would know what Slipknot is, but they totally had that vibe going on. Mission Man was a monster, and then Walk On By… so gorgeous. Butterfly was fun, as always, but hey, my URL stems from that one, so of course I would like it. 🙂

On the whole, Thursday was a more consistent show, but last night had its moments of jaw-dropping magnitude, particularly Peggy-O and 7SM.
