Well, not really ten years, but it has been a while since I actually wrote something on the blog (last week’s Hayden video doesn’t count). Life’s been busy of late, and when it hasn’t been, I just haven’t thought about blogging for a host of reasons, but one in particular. For those who don’t read Kim’s blog, the latest news is that she needs to go in for surgery again, a surgery that effectively ends our chances for having a biological child. Other options will remain, fortunately, but at the moment, seem distant due to the immediacy of all of this.
It’s been hard on both of us, this news, but I’m staying focused on her, knowing how devastasting this has been for her. Kim has wanted nothing more than to be pregnant and then, of course, a mother, and while this will still be potentially doable via a donor egg, it will be a while before we can pursue that course. She will need to recover from the surgery, both physically and emotionally. And, perhaps, spiritually. It’s hard to believe in much of anything when it always seems like the universe is putting one roadblock after another in your way (and please, spare any platitudes in the comment section regarding this sort of thing, no matter how well-meaning they may be…).
That’s the skinny on why I’ve really not felt interested in blogging lately. I will be more active after this post, I’m sure.
