We’ve had major web problems for the past month, with the exception of the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Every night at 5 PM, like clockwork, we basically grind to a halt. Phones work, cable works, but the interwebs? Toast.
Well, it came back New Year’s Day, and last night, it hit again at 5 PM, so we finally called Cablevision about it. After spending about a half hour debugging over the phone, and appointment was set for this morning between 8 AM and 11 AM. I wanted it handled, once and for all and gotten out of the way.
A few moments ago, they called, saying, “You should be fine, there was a network problem today in your area. We’ve cancelled your visit as we show you’re fine.”
Umm, hello? Did you fucking read our call report? We’re fine during the day — obviously, to anyone reading my twitter feed or my facebook spam for Farmville and Café World. The tech last night on the phone even told me this was not part of an outage.
I’ve just spent the past thirty minutes on the phone, on hold, and talking to various people regarding the fact that they didn’t bother to read the fucking call report that flagged us as Must Visit Anyway. Now I wish we’d called ages ago on this, as I’ve only been able to finesse a credit for two days of lost internet usage, but still, I’m really fucking pissed.
They’re supposed to be here between 11 and 2 PM, now. If they’re not, I’m to call again at 1:45. Yeah…that’s going to be a real pleasant call to make if I have to do so.
And here I was praising Cablevision lately. Bah.
